Just to add on

Yeah basically i agree with Daryl's previous post. Where's the commitment man? It's like everytime someone mentions soccer gathering at CCAB(not exactly training i know) its the same ppl who end up there. No names but you just have to look at those who went this week(mon & fri) and you'll get a clear answer. It was exactly the same ppl who went, save for kovan who went to malaysia and shawn who had ACE camp.
Something on? Try to reshedule. Look at Reuben for example. He changed the date of him going to church just to make it for the match on the 4th of Nov. Number 22 is also another player worth mentioning. For the Cashew match and the traning on the 13Oct he volunteered to take cab from Orchard just so he can rush down for the match/training at his own expense.

Next, i have found a replacement GK. His name is Khalib i think. From CCKSS with Kovan and my recommendation. Since Jun Jie is out(most likely) Khalib shall stand in. Based on the hanful of times i've face him. He is one helluva keeper. He has courage, football knowledge which is so vital and great pair of hands. Also, judging from his lembarrts, he is definately able to take a goal kick way past the 3/4 mark of the field. His size is about the same as Ming but not to worry he will not drift out of his post. Do try to talk to him on the day itself as this could be a permanent move due to some uncommited shit and thus allowing Jun Jie to take up his prefered outfield position.

Little bit of encouragement also. Try to ignite the passion and burning desire for a win on the 4th. WE NEED THAT-badly.

Reminder

A reminder to all. We are all trying to win games. To do that, we must train. We must play more together. Only then chemistry will be developed. It doesnt happen overnight. You have to sacrifice and contribute.

I acknoledge the fact that some of us are very busy people. And i shall say it here. The busiest people in the squad is Jethro and Lucas. Jethro is still enthu. Lucas is considered a newcomer, give him some time. I know that some of us are introduced to the team by older members. But doesnt mean that your friend who introduced you into the team does not go for training because he cant make it, you also dun go. Be reminded that we are a team and you can spend time with us, we can help you have the same closeness as what you are with your other good friends. Just spend more time together and we will be good friends off the pitch and good players on the pitch. The best example can be seen with Wei Ian and Chien Ming. Chien Ming joined earlier than Wei Ian but by hanging out together, by training together, from total strangers who distant themselves from each other, they became idiots who joked and fool around, creating such closeness and warmness. The laughter and joy is what exactly is needed in the team. The aim of the team is to bring together a group of people with the same passion, to have fun and happiness.

I use this opportunity to bring this blog alive. It has been hibernating for a long time. Since 2 weeks or so before the exams. We held discussions and decided that to avoid problems like...

"Oi, you owe me money."
"Since when i owe you money?"
"Remember? The field, and $1 for the ref?"
"No... Where got?"

It s a very sad case. I feel bad for the person sometimes being forced to book the field, being forced to call the ref etc. Almost 90% of the time, the person who forks out the money will end up losing money. Now, the plan is simple. Every week, every member throws in just $2 to the treasurer. The treasurer collects the money and NOT spend it and NOT 'borrow' it by taking out any amount. It is safekept and used ONLY for team stuff like booking the field and ref. By the end of the month, we would have $128. That simple. No one loses extra money. No one is treated unfairly as the bigger contributor. HOWEVER, if you want to put in more money, that s your business. Of course it is better but i doubt you smart and calculative people out there will even think about throwing in a cent more.

These 2 topics i mentioned might cause an uproar on the tagboard and that is exactly what i intend. Please tag your views and forgive me for by bluntness at times or if i offended you in any way. I m just voicing out what i feel that might help improve the team and the results. Please inform every other member that the blog is back alive and dun give a damn to those ******* hackers out there. GET LOST KAYPOHS!

Team Sapphires VS Team Slayers

Hello squad. The coach of Team Sapphires just smsed me and asked for confirmation of the match on Sat the 4th of Nov at 5pm. Location at Regent Sec(Next to the condo where number 10,11,14 & 21 lives). By the way its their home ground which explains the title of my entry. Not to worry I see it almost everyday so the pitch is official size, the goalposts has nets and there are CLEAR markings for the side, penalty box etc. Its condition is ahh better than Bukit Timah field rest assured. Oh AND its better than some screwed up field with drains, anyone remember? Basically we are to handle the cost of the ref while they handle the cost of the field($50 each), you go calculate the cost per person yourself. Not sure whether we're gonna have to find a ref or they're gonna get one themselves. I'll update on this. But most importantly...

Please confirm with me your attendance on 4th of Nov 5pm at Regent Sec(in Choa Chu Kang/Yew Tee) by tonight. Take the initiative this time around.

Confirmation

1st:
Issue on Holidays.
For our convenience, please tell captain, vice captain or me about when u all going overseas. If possible, please tell us your training dates, your camp dates, your dates with girlfriends. By doing this, you make things much more easier for us. If you ahve already wrote in the tagboard, you don't have to tell us again.

2nd:
Issue on Matches.
I really want to play a match against any team. I want both Zi Xiang and Wei Ian on the field together AT THE SAME TIME. SJI-XI, Zi Xiang wasn't there. Cashew, Wei Ian wasn't there. I want a match where all our 'Guranteed 1st team players' are on the field. So that we WILL NOT face the problem of 'the absence of Star Player'. As for the trainings, i have put up a POLL, so you guys decide on how many trainings you all want to have.

3rd:
Team Chalet.
Is this idea still possible, is anyone thinking of having a team chalet? Personally, i feel that a team chalet would be a great way to have team bonding. Daryl already told you guys abut the details on one of the previous posts, so its up to you guys to decide whether you all wanna make it a not.

Bad bad bad.

We have many players out. Some cant go for training. Some cant go for match. Bad, many problems.

Firstly, the training should be brought forward to this coming Friday, 13th Oct. However, as Junjie brought up, we shouldn't go for training with the haze. Its very unhealthy. Anyway, I think all of your parents wont allow it anyway. So we should analyse the condition first. By the way, 14th Oct is Zi Han's birthday. Haha just realised he is still 13 yrs old now. Anywayz, Happy Birthday, Zi Han! Reuben is going to Malaysia on 13th to 15th and Wei ian going overseas sometime in Oct. By bringing the training forward, there's a higher chance both can go cuz it would be late morning or around noon.

Secondly, we have a second injury after the broken wrist Andy suffered. Shawn is out for 1 month with a fractured toe on the left foot. Bad news.

Thirdly, the match. 4th Nov. Opponents should have settled the field. Cant change date. Wei Ian most likely cant go. Zi Xiang most likely cant go. Shawn shouldnt be able to play also. 3 out. We will therefore be left with 13 players. 2 subs. It maybe a blessing in disguise but no good for two players. Zi Xiang missed the first match against SJI XI. By missing this match, he would only have played 2 while others played 4. Wei Ian missed Cashew match and will be the same as Zi Xiang having played only 2 matches. At least Shawn played 3, not too bad.

Fourthly, there's the Kalifah match. Jeremy more or less comfirmed the match exist but not comfirmed the date but should be before the Sapphires that is on the 4th of Nov.

Lastly, Dempsey pitch 1 is under repair now to 12 Nov. While pitch 2, 3 , 4 will be ready in 31 Dec. The info is taken from http://www.ssc.gov.sg/SportsWeb/upload/field%20closure%20(update%20as%20at%2020.9.06).xls.

haha. another maths problem below.

[(8x2) + (6x2) - (9x3) + (14/2) ]

fyi, the ans is [8].

Important Information

To those who dunno what is gonna happen after exams, the action officially starts on 14th October.

14th Oct- Training at Bukit Timah Field. Plz pay $3.20 for booking of field.
4th Nov- Match against Team Sapphires at Regent Sec Field (in Yew Tee). Pay $3.20 also.

There's some discussion over the chalet thingy, but nothing is comfirmed yet. Venue? You can ask yourself how many chalets you know and narrow down the decision to only the Pasir Ris area- Downtown East/ Pasir Ris. Unless you want get off the main island and go Sentosa to play beach soccer. Or go and stay in the 'army camp' at Home Team. Logically, to choose from, decent chalets are only available in the East. We can book for one chalet at $99 for 2 days 1 night. The plan is something like team hotel, where we hang out together the day before the match, then travel together to the match and go back to the 'hotel'. Slack, xbox, bowling, swimming, pool, LAN, barbeque, whatever. This is to bring the team closer together taking in consideration that many of us are from different schools, and dun spend much time together.

Also, there is the warm up match in discussion. Jer suggested we play a warm up match against Team Kalifah just for fun. But some are against that as we will still be in exam mood and will be damn unfit. So, most likely we will have to train a few times first then play a match. We MUST cut down the goal difference. 1 goal scored and 16 goals conceded is simply pathetic.

To conclude, just keep out your personal activities on Saturdays and the dates mentioned above. More team stuff will be planned. No worries.
