A glimmer of hope

Sometimes i just think that our team is useless. Not to say useless but made no achievements. I heard from jeremy that another team wanted to buy our no. 14, striker Kovan- for $10. I cant believe it. $10? Is he worth only that? I dun think so. Whatever it is, we wont want Kovan to go. Also another piece of news from jeremy- ying lun found a team that wanna challenge us. I just wonder whether it will be another 'walkover'. We have challenged no real team. All i want is a decent 11 a side match just to see what we are capable of but nothing has come true. This glimmer of hope is lighted by some thing i am more sure of. My classmate, a malay, is trying to form a team to challenge us. Next Sunday. Centre-back Chien Ming dun think he will make it to form a team to challenge us. Even if he does, Ming thinks we will lose as the mud handpicks his team making sure it is the best 11 suitable for every position. it sounds like mourinho and his star studded chelsea. Used to have two world class players in each position. Anyway, this person suggested to have the match this coming Wednesday, which SJI has a holiday due to good O level results. But it may not be suitable for the other team mates and i dun think he will be able to pick his team in time. I have decided not to care too much about all these possible matches because of all the past experiences. So close yet so far. Once bitten twice shy. The higher the expectation, the larger the disappointment. Even worse news, Reuben dun wanna play matches until end of common tests. maybe ying lun is pissed with this but jeremy is defitnitely not happy with this. Star defender and strong centre back not coming for matches is not helping the team morale. But i just got this feeling that the team is drifting apart.

Just one match please! It should be enough to bring everyone together. New members and old ones. Lucas has not even met the captain, and Zi Han has not even made his jersey. i think this will give them a bad impression especially Zi Han who i think he thinks we are some nut cases after the crazy spamming conversation plus the porky phrases. Also, the last post was about 5 days ago and that was by me. I kindly request any member just type some thing like what you think of the barren team with no achivements or anything. Just respond. Whatever it is just one match, one decent match will make me happy and i think most of us happy!

Agreed...?

Jeremy published a long post recently and i think it is really meaningful. We need to know our mistakes and not carry on with it. We need just one thing to change all these unwise things we have been doing- and that is an 11 a side match. A few of us have been trying very hard to arrange a match but to no avail. We will still try to get a match this Saturday but everyone must play their part and pay their part. I have no choice but to post this up because i think i cannot always be the generous person in the team. So now i m gonna post who in the team owes me how much... Sorry if i offended you in anyway but i think this might just be the most effective way to spread news and reminders throughout the team.
-Junjie owes me $13 but he is trying his best to pay up the debt and im happy with that
-Kovan owes me $5.50 for the ref and owes Reuben $1.50 for the field
-Fazrul owes Reuben $1.50
-Wei Ian owes me $4.50 for the field and owes Reuben $1.50 for the field (gave me $1 last time rmb?)
-Andy owes Reuben $1.50 for the field
-Jethro owes me $5.50 for the ref and owes Reuben $1.50 for the field

Please pay up your debts, i know some of you do not even know that you owe us money but Singapore is such a lousy place to play football and in order for every one to get to play enjoyable football, we should all coorperate. If you dun even have $7 to pay up then what about me and Reuben? We dug out money from our pockets and now have a negative value in our savings. Just pay up your debts please, it have dragged on for months.

I still think having a team fund is the best. Such an idea will not have people like us pestering you to pay money. The accumulated amount is kept by a trustworthy treasurer in the team and whenever money is needed for matches or anything related to the team, money can be taken out from there. Reuben mentioned this before but I dun see any response. Everyone chips in maybe like $10 or $20 and it will be enough for the team to survive for a couple of months. When there is a competition or tournament with prize money, we will try our best to win it and subsidy our expenditures. Meanwhile, we need funds and if any one you know can afford to sponsor us or chip in a bit more funds, it is very much appreciated as a kind deed will go a long way for poor ambitious fellows like us.

To Wei Ian, remember the first time you came to dempsey, you rammed my Lotto ball into the forest. With strong support from some teammates, I have decided to do something. I know it may sound serious but i do not even have a kickable ball that can be used outdoor to practise. So i have decided to claim some money to get another ball. Really sorry if i have offended you in anyway but money is indeed a sensitve issue.

Oh ya on the topic of left footers. I have to emphasize that it is very important to know which opponent is a leftie. Especially defenders, goalkeepers included. A player will usually move in favour of his positioning of his dominant foot. It may sound complicating but you can just imagine yourself kicking a ball. When taking a freekick, using innerfoot, of course you will position your body to the left of the ball before running up to hit it. It s just logical. A striker can easily setup himself and for his dominant foot to hit the ball for a goalbound shot. That is where the defenders knowledge on which foot the opponent prefers comes in. The defenders should know when the striker is ready for a shot with the ball in certain postions and try to block it. Good positional play is half the battle won. That is why Shawn is at a real disadvantage as good defenders who know his weakness (cant kick the ball at all with left foot). Good defenders will be able to read his next movement and guard the position where he will most likely take that would accomodate the dominance of his right foot. That will leave the striker stranded and have to try to trick pass or pass back for support. Knowing whether the oppoonent can kick with both feet is just as important with the same logic- to guard the opponent's next step.

P.S. Defenders and goalkeepers, know your opponent's dominant foot, it will come in handy...

i think most of you reading the previous chunk of words would probably have question marks all over your head but when you defend, it should come naturally.

in conclusion to this whole chunk of words, people who owe me and reuben money, (refer to above) [wei ian special case], please bring them and team fund to the next match or next time we meet. Btw, we have started teamfund with about $20 collected. Just keep adding! and earn it back at tounaments!

[the crappy person, daryl]
Well, don't totally outlaw Ball-Ramming...just try to keep it to a minimum...and work on team ethics like what we did on Sat, 1 goalie 2 defenders e rest midfielders and strikers, long balls, short balls, crosses etc. Also try out the different formations to see which one suits the team best

Dear Members of Team-Slayers™

As the team captain, I would like to express my views on a few matters. Lets start from training attitude. Once we reach Dempsey and once a ball or two is present, Ball-Ramming™ sessions will commence. Seriously, what's the use of ramming balls past a hapless GK? I'm sure everyone of us in the team has the ability to shoot well-but please save that for matches. You might say: its a form of free kick practice. C'mon, if you really want to, can we at least organise it in an orderly manner, with a proper wall and real-life situations such as using the offside trap when defending an indirect set-piece.

Secondly, formations. Daryl as we all know, has put in a lot of effort to plan the various team formations. So please try not to request to keep changing this and that(like postions and formation shapes, eg. 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 1-1-8, whatever). It is not easy for Daryl to come up with such detailed match plans that mostly fits everyone's playing style and prefered positions etc. However, you are still welcome to voice out your opinions, abeit in a peaceful manner.

Regarding the matches that were cancelled, I'm sure all of us have been greatly disappointed. However, we shouldn't let these irresponsible people shatter our team spirit. The important thing now is not to let our emotions run wild. Instead, we should be calm and look forward to future matches.(AND THRASH PPL)

some solutions to Ball-Ramming™ sessions
1. Bring lesser balls
2. Confiscate all balls
3. Train somewhere without goal posts
4. Be disciplined enough to resist the urge to Ball-Ram™
5. Stop trainings

respect
1. Respect Daryl, don't laugh at his enthusiasm in making team formations
2. Listen to whoever speaks. If he suggests something, try your best to do it. If oyu can't see anything wrong, YOU are wrong. It's just that someone else looks at it from a different angle, thus the ability to spot YOUR problem

being chased like crap to get out of Dempsey

1. Book the loody field
2. Beat up the old man
3. Act stupid, pretend we don't know need to book(after all its 15+ ppl against 1 old man)

Lastly, just put aside our emotions and have fun playing soccer as a team. Don't go around headbutting or whatever. XD

FF XIII Ayumi Final Fantasy Freak says:

daryl says:

daryl says:

daryl says:

FF XIII Ayumi Final Fantasy Freak says:

daryl says:

daryl says:
blog so much say i so enthu for what
daryl says:
what s the use
daryl says:
one man team is useless
daryl says:
it s not called a team

This was what Daryl wrote. I can see he is utterly disappointed with us. Maybe with me, or many other people. As for me, i will try to improve, but for the rest, it is up to you to decide whether you still want to commit yourselves into the team. Moneywise, i know i am short of money, but i am always trying to pay my debts, blame me for having such a poor family if you want, but i will never ever take it to mind.

Cheer up, Team-Slayers!

Yay! New Signing!

The alleged possible new signing that failed is made possible again. Zi Han the left-winger from ACS(I) who was from primary school team is joining us and most probably taking the no. 4 jersey. This will solve the problem of Team Slayers left flank that no one could naturally fill. Now we have a very balanced team of 3 left-footers, one defender, one midfielder and one striker. -Reuters.

aiya realised i cant be a newspaper editor... whatever it is, we got a new signing. Now to summarise the 'squad'

No. Player Position Exact Position
4 Zi Han Midfielder Left wing
5 Terence Defender Right back
6 Zi Xiang Striker Right forward
7 Shawn Striker Right forward/ Centre forward
8 Daryl Defender Right back/ Centre back
9 Reuben Defender Centre back/ Left back
10 Jeremy Midfielder Centre attacking/ defensive
11 Ying Lun Midfielder Right wing
12 Jun Jie Goalkeeper Between posts (DUH)
14 Kovan Striker Left forward
17 Lucas Defender Left back
18 Wei Ian Midfielder Centre attacking
20 Andy Defender Full back [OUT FOR 2 MONTHS]
21 Jethro Midfielder Centre attacking
22 Chien Ming Defender Centre back

15 players. XI on field. 4 subs. Good balance. 6 defenders, one out left 5. 5 midfielders. 3 strikers. if play 4-4-2, every position one sub. Nice.

Coming matches in approaching 2 Saturdays, plz tell us if you cannot make it. Might be in the mornings.

[who else but me, d....]

Comfirmation

There are 2 matches coming up and one is on the 22nd which is kovan's friends aka the muds, and 29th one week later, 'mixed team'. details will be posted at a later date.

Not Again!!!

Hiya... same old story. Match postponed. Why cant we have a decent 11 a side?!!! This time, it's the opponents also. Got 'N' Level exam then gotta prepare. If they knew there is an exam then should not have even started the idea of having a match what.... then now make us disappointed again. Lucky didnt book pitch or call ref... or else... Anywayz, it s postponed to the next sunday. then there is another match coming up... i think it's on the 29th. Dunno who. Whatever it is, wait for jeremy to comfirm everything... it's just a failure. Cant even get hold of a comfirmed match...

Not to make everyone pissed, there is only one good news and that is that there are 2 matches coming up. 2 matches that we must win.

Latest on the signings...

Yoz. We comfirmed the signing of Left-back Lucas. just bought his jersey and socks today. The shorts is with Andy because it actually was meant for Fazrul but as everyone knows, the dramatic story. Ya like what Ying Lun tagged, let's welcome Lucas new no. 17!!!

By the way, the info for this sunday's match

-Venue= Near Phoenix LRT. Just find a field nearby
-Time= 3pm kick off... be there 2 plus
-Attire= Standard jersey

ya, that should be all. keep being updated.

The Beautiful Game

Passing is the key to victory. Solo-ing to death is just giving away possesion.

Definitions. Explainations.

Passing - When u have the ball, give it to another team mate, not the opponent.
Passing - Means passing forward, advancing to the opponent's goal, if under pressure, pass back.
Solo - Dribbling to one corner and getting tackled
Solo - Dribbling, using skills and trying to get pass the opponent on tour own when there is a chance to pass.
Solo - See a open man, yet still continue on your own and getting tackled.
Solo - DOES not mean that you can't solo, but try not to do it all the time.
Solo - If you think you can score, SHOOT, and if you score, it isn't SOLO.

MATCHDAY!

This will be the first ever 11 a side match. Kovan's friends challenge us to a match. They are Malays. Havent inform referee but the match is this coming Sunday, 16th July at 3pm. Venue is at 'Phoenix LRT' area. Not sure where is it. Jeremy told me it's near Bukit Panjang LRT. Comfirm the venue another day. They are wearing yellow, but not jersey, just school PE shirt.

By the way, latest update on Andy's condition. He is out for 2 months. Currently, we have 12 players on ready mode. Jonathan Taylor backed up, in other words, contract lapse. So we have 2 potential signings left. Two lefties. Zihan from ACS(I) and Lucas from SJI. We should settle he signings by this week, latest Friday.

JEREMY: I Just uploaded some formations, check it out.

Our starting formation, sth like 3-5-2 with 2 deep lying midfielders. Jethro is more of an attacker, so expect him to drift up occasionaly, while Jeremy should stay back and cover. Wei Ian and Yinglun is very important as they are the only source of wing play which means they also have to defend the wings too.

Anytime during the match or whatever.
Andy sub in Jethro, plays LB.
JunJie play outfield at RB, Ming play GK. Midfield is diamond shaped.

Anytime during the match or whatever.
Ter sub in Jun Jie, plays RB.

lol...

One more!

Another possible transfer with the aid of Jethro. His friend Zi Han, left footer. Quoted,' very good ball control'. From ACS(I) , sounds good. Have to consider also so not comfirm. Finally, in conclusion, we have scouted for pretty good talented young and hopeful footballers. Okay sounds lame.... To summarize possible incoming transfers..
1. Lucas Tang - SJI- Left-back [Shawn]
2. Jonathan Taylor- ACS(I)- Centre-midfield [Wei Ian]
3. Zi Han- ACS(I)- Left-wing [Jethro]

[daryl]

Latest possible transfers

Latest update on the latest transfers going on in the team. In SJI, we talent scouted a Left-Back. It's Shawn's friend actually, played with him before, not bad. At least we solved the problem of the Left-Back. But, not comfirmed yet, he say he will consider but most likely will join. His name is Lukas... Podolski. Lukas Tang la, really not bad. It s a long story actually... scouting. I thought of Fabien Barthez.. no la.. Fabien Koh, self claimed left-back. But asking JJ, he say he would quit if Fabien joined... ok i guess JJ is more important.. definitely. So no more Fabien. Then got Rahim, jeremy dun like muds, and he most likely wont join so no use. The last leftie, super pro Leslie. Dun think will have time to play since got CCA plus in top class. So no more lefties. But another pro... sec 4, Stuart. Still under observation and trials. Quite quiet type but most likely dun ka jiao him and his 'O's la. In conclusion, we got Lukas the left-back.

Wei Ian searched also , but found right footed midfielder. Jonathan Taylor. He came to NTU that time for the Teengames thingy but didnt get to play. Kinda feel sorry for him. Went all the way but didnt get to play. But then he might be joining us. Another long story. actually he didnt wanna join because he sort of scared of us coz he didnt come back to play in the teengames when we asked him to come back.

In the end, we got two new players, but havent really done the paperwork... er sorry, havent comfirm. But the odds are high.

We have actually 6 defenders, selling fazrul, will be 5, andy broke his wrist so we left 4. Then we have a new LB , plus one = 5. Now (4-4-2 midfield diamond) the back 4 will be from right to left, Daryl, Reuben, Chien Ming, if possible, Lukas. Midfield, defensive midfield will be Jeremy, Right wing is Ying Lun and Left Wing is Wei Ian. Centre attacking midfield will be Shawn or if possible, Taylor. Two strikers are Zi Xiang and Kovan. On the bench, will be a defender= Terence, midfielders= Jethro, Taylor.

Currently, 4 defenders +Andy = 5
4 midfielders
3 strikers
After, 5 defenders + Andy= 6
5 midfielders
3 strikers

To make sure everyone plays, the wing back formation is the best to take out tired players especially the wing backs after halftime

There are still one or two possible transfers so be updated!!!

Match's over. Now gotta wait for dat referee to inform us when is the nxt match.
Btw, Daryl's idea is to set up a team fund. Everyone chip in 20 bucks. Appoint a treasurer and he'll keep them. Den when we wanna book dempsey/ hire ref. den just use this money. How abt dat, ppl?
-Quarrels are just part & parcel in a team. At the end of the day, it'll oni bring the team closer-
This wad i believe....
